Španjolska sorta sađena po južnoj Bugarskoj, navodno otporna do -22, na nekim drugim mjestima sam našao do -20 je sorta Arbequina (Arbequí, Arbequín.) (pišu je u raznim jezicima i Arbechina, Arbekina). Osim kultivara "Arbequina"
Olea europaea L. cv. Arbequina postoji i klon "Arbequina 21 kilos" i neki drugi klonovi.
(
Arbequina and Arbosana are quite cold hardy compared to Koroneiki, but can be severely injured,
when young, if the temperatures get below about 24oF for significant lengths of time.)Ova sorta je za granična područja u unutrašnjosti Istre, Dalmatinske zagore i hladnijih dijelova Hercegovine.

o klimi dijela Bugarske gdje se sade masline:
The Municipality is part of the South Bulgarian Climate zone, and more precisely, it belongs to the Eastern Rhodope climate region which is being influenced by the warm Mediterranean.
Winter is comparatively mild. During the winter period, the minimum temperatures are comparatively high. Summer is hot and sunny, and the maximum temperatures reach 40 ° C . The average winter temperature is about 0 ° C, and in summer – 24 ° C. The average annual temperature is about 11-13 ° C. The annual temperature sum is about 4 000 ° C.
During the autumn-winter period there appear to fall some of the heaviest rains that are a result of the Mediterranean cyclones. There can be noticed two maximums: one in winter – November , December , January; and one in spring – May , June , July; and also there is one minimum – August, September .
Because of the southern location of the Municipality the greater amounts of the winter rainfalls are in the form of rain and snow. In spring the quantity of rainfalls is sufficient and this provides an adequate soil moisturizing. A comparatively obvious rainless period starts from June on and this becomes completely obvious toward the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. All this continues until the month of October. The annual rainfall sum is about 600 liters / sq. m.
