i think that i saw at palm talk that in florida and some parts of california it is possible to grow cocos outdoor. i dont know what zones they are, might be 10 a or b, or higher. one member of some forum , i cant remember which one has cocos grown from "seed", indoor, and it is survived many years,it has fully split leaves and has small trunk inside the big pot. somewhere in america, zone 6 or 7, but inside the house. it looks great. actually, once in the supermarket i saw one cocos with few leaves coming out. then i didnt know that is the best to buy one like that one and grow your self a coco palm, i thought i will die like the rest of those ones u buy in nursery's. stupid me. now, every time i go to supermarket i look around to find such , but till now, nothing. maybe one day i'll get luck. ;)
